Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) hotels in Dharamsala have seen an extraordinary resurgence, marking a promising revival for the region’s tourism sector. After years of challenges, including the pandemic’s impact, key properties such as Hotel Dhauladhar, Hotel Kunal, and Kashmir House achieved significant income growth in April 2025.
Hotel Dhauladhar led the way with a 131% rise in total income, fueled by innovative services, expanded local cuisine offerings, and revamped guest experiences. Popular additions included traditional Himachali dishes like Siddu, Buransh chutney, and Khatta meat, alongside international options like mocktails and barbecues. The hotel’s bar revenue soared by 141%, and supplementary services like bonfires and hall rentals generated a staggering 446% income increase.
Hotel Kunal followed with a similar 131% growth, while the heritage Kashmir House saw a remarkable 298% rise, blending colonial charm with modern amenities to attract tourists. Strategic upgrades, operational efficiency, and focus on guest satisfaction were instrumental in this success.
