IHM Ranchi Hosts Handicraft Competition on National Tourism Day

On the occasion of National Tourism Day, the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) organized an impactful handicraft competition themed “Best Out of Waste.” The main aim of this competition was to raise awareness about environmental conservation and recycling, not only to reduce the amount of waste but also to foster creativity and a sense of responsibility toward the environment. It also demonstrated how old items can be transformed into new and valuable products.

In this competition, students of the institute reused old, discarded, or useless materials to create new and useful products. A total of 26 participants took part, and the students made unique and functional items such as wall hangings, paper dolls, huts, lamps, paper bags, and clothing, among others. Participants were given only 2 hours to complete their creations.

The winners of the competition were:

Second place: Mr. Sumit Kumar & Mr. Victor Chakraborty
Third place: Mr. Anshu & Ms. Neha
Additionally, Mr. Ravi Ranjan and Mr. Sumit Kumar were awarded the Principal’s Special Recognition Award.
