Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott International, has made its India debut with the opening of NoorMahal Delhi NCR Karnal—a 176-room heritage-inspired property positioned as a “collector’s palace” along the historic Grand Trunk Road.
The launch marks Marriott Bonvoy’s 19th brand in India and further strengthens its regional footprint, with the property becoming one of over 230 Marriott hotels in South Asia.
A Landmark Entry into India
The debut of Autograph Collection Hotels in India reflects growing demand for experiential, design-led stays rooted in cultural authenticity. Known globally for its curated portfolio of over 360 independent hotels, the brand focuses on properties that offer a strong sense of place and individuality.
Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President – South Asia at Marriott International, said the launch underscores the evolving preferences of Indian travellers seeking immersive and distinctive hospitality experiences.
Heritage Meets Contemporary Luxury
Located on NH44 in Karnal, NoorMahal Delhi NCR Karnal draws inspiration from Mughal, Rajput, Punjabi, and Persian architectural influences. Designed as a living museum, the property houses an extensive collection of Indian art and artefacts, blending royal heritage with modern aesthetics.
Its façade features domes, arches, and intricate jali work, while interiors showcase layered textures, artisanal craftsmanship, and expansive layouts that combine tradition with contemporary comfort.
Strategic Location and Connectivity
The hotel is strategically positioned between Delhi and Kurukshetra, offering seamless connectivity to key cities including Chandigarh, Ambala, and Ludhiana. It is located approximately two hours from Indira Gandhi International Airport and Chandigarh International Airport, and just 15 minutes from Karnal Railway Station.
The property also serves as a gateway to major leisure destinations such as Amritsar, Shimla, Manali, Dehradun, and Mussoorie.
Elevated Stay and Signature Experiences
The hotel features 176 guestrooms and suites, including premium penthouses such as Raja Niwas and Khwabgah, which offer private terraces and butler service. Rooms are designed with bespoke furnishings and rich textiles, creating a balance between luxury and personal comfort.
Guests can also experience curated “Autograph Moments,” including a royal portrait session inspired by classic courtly aesthetics, offering a personalised and immersive cultural experience.
Dining, Wellness and Recreation
Dining at the property spans four venues, including The Frontier Mail, specialising in North-Western frontier cuisine, and Colonel Saab, an all-day dining restaurant offering Indian and international fare. The Polo Bar and The Cake Factory complete the culinary offering.
The hotel also offers a full-service spa, outdoor pool, gymnasium, and recreational activities such as tennis, pickleball, ziplining, and rock climbing, catering to both leisure and family travellers.
Large-Scale Event Destination
With over 300,000 square feet of event space, including venues such as Rani ka Bagh, Raja ka Bagh, Sheesh Mahal, and Darbar Hall, the property is positioned as a major destination for weddings, corporate events, and large social gatherings in North India.
Ownership and Vision
The property is owned by Colonel Manbeer Singh Choudhary, Mrs. Binny Choudhary, and Kr. Roop Partap Singh, descendants of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The partnership with Marriott International is aimed at elevating the property’s global positioning while preserving its cultural authenticity.
Strengthening India’s Premium Hospitality Segment
The opening of NoorMahal Delhi NCR Karnal marks a significant step in expanding India’s luxury and heritage hospitality landscape. With a focus on storytelling, design, and immersive experiences, Autograph Collection Hotelsenters the market at a time when demand for differentiated stays continues to rise.
