Thailand-based hospitality and property development company Dusit International has strengthened its presence in India with the signing of a hotel management agreement for Dusit Princess Rishikesh, an upscale mixed-use hospitality development in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal region.
The project, being developed in partnership with luxury real estate and hospitality company Atmosphere, is scheduled to open in 2031 and will introduce Dusit’s upper-midscale Dusit Princess brand to one of India’s fastest-growing wellness and spiritual tourism destinations.
Nestled in the Himalayan foothills near Rishikesh, the development is designed to blend contemporary hospitality with wellness-focused experiences inspired by the region’s natural surroundings. The project will feature 300 keys, comprising hotel rooms and luxury duplex villas, catering to both leisure and business travellers.
Guests will have access to a range of amenities including an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge, business centre, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, yoga room, and flexible event spaces.
Further enhancing its lifestyle appeal, the property will house a dedicated clubhouse featuring wellness and recreational facilities such as a spa, infinity pool, restaurant with seating for approximately 250 guests, squash court, mini-plex, bowling alley, indoor gaming zones, and other leisure experiences.
The signing marks another milestone in Dusit International’s India growth strategy following the launch of dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla in 2024, and reflects the company’s focus on expanding across high-potential leisure and experiential travel destinations.
Commenting on the development, Siradej Donavanik, Vice President – Development (Global), Dusit International, said India remains a key growth market for the company, driven by increasing demand for leisure, wellness, and experience-led travel.
“The signing of Dusit Princess Rishikesh underscores our commitment to expanding thoughtfully in destinations that align with evolving traveller preferences and long-term market potential. Rishikesh’s unique combination of spirituality, wellness, and natural beauty makes it an ideal location for our brand,” he said.
Sanchit Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Atmosphere, said the collaboration aims to create a destination-led hospitality experience that integrates luxury, wellness, and nature.
“With Dusit’s globally recognised hospitality expertise and wellness-driven philosophy, we are confident that Dusit Princess Rishikesh will establish itself as a premier retreat for travellers seeking immersive and elevated experiences in Uttarakhand,” he added.
The project highlights the growing attractiveness of wellness tourism and experiential hospitality in India, particularly in destinations such as Rishikesh, which continue to attract domestic and international visitors seeking spiritual, recreational, and nature-based experiences.
