Greek authorities have moved to suspend a large hotel expansion project on the island of Milos following concerns over zoning compliance and environmental impact near Sarakiniko Beach. The project, which proposes expanding an existing property from 30 to 171 suites and bungalows, has drawn scrutiny for potentially exceeding approved development limits and encroaching on protected coastal zones.
While legal challenges filed by the Municipality of Milos are under review, construction had continued due to procedural delays.
