The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has inaugurated its 73rd Skilling Centre at Kumaon University, Nainital, in collaboration with Tata STRIVE, Setu Aayog, and the Government of Uttarakhand. The centre was inaugurated by Rajshekhar Joshi, Vice Chairman, Setu Aayog.
Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL, said, “True hospitality begins with empowering communities. The 73rd skilling centre at Kumaon University marks another milestone in our mission to uplift and enable India’s youth. Under our ESG+ framework, Paathya, IHCL aims to skill 1,00,000 individuals by 2030, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive growth.”
The Nainital centre will train over 500 youth in three years, offering courses in Food & Beverage Service, Food Production, and Front Office Operations. The multi-partner collaboration includes funding and infrastructure support from the Government of Uttarakhand and Kumaon University, with Tata STRIVE as the implementation partner and IHCL as the knowledge partner.
Through its expanding network of 73 centres across 21 states, IHCL continues to nurture employable talent and strengthen India’s hospitality ecosystem.
