IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched its luxury collection brand, Vignette Collection, in India and South West Asia with the opening of The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula, a 145-room property located in Haryana’s Chandigarh Tricity region.
The opening marks a significant milestone in IHG’s luxury and lifestyle growth strategy in India, a market the company has identified as a key driver for premium hospitality expansion. Positioned against the Shivalik Hills, the hotel strengthens IHG’s presence in North India while introducing the group’s collection-brand model to the region.
Vignette Collection, IHG’s first collection brand, was launched to cater to growing demand for independent luxury hotels backed by the scale, distribution and loyalty ecosystem of a global operator. The brand currently comprises 34 hotels across 17 countries, with another 45 properties in the pipeline globally.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the launch reflects the company’s intent to expand distinctive luxury offerings in one of the world’s fastest-growing travel markets. He noted that India presents significant opportunities for the brand, with travellers increasingly seeking character-led and experience-driven stays.
The Aarlis Hotel Panchkula features multiple dining venues, a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool and nearly 30,000 sq. ft. of meetings and events space, including the Aura Grand Ballroom. The property is targeting both business and leisure travellers, leveraging its proximity to Chandigarh’s commercial districts and attractions such as Morni Hills, Sukhna Lake and the Capitol Complex.
As part of the Vignette Collection brand framework, the hotel will offer a signature cultural ritual, Venu-Nada, and has partnered with NGO Chhoti Si Asha to support livelihood opportunities for underprivileged women through locally sourced guest amenities and gifting products.
The opening further strengthens IHG’s luxury portfolio in the region and underscores growing investor confidence in India’s upscale hospitality segment.
