Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd. has strengthened its footprint in India’s fast-growing religious tourism segment with the signing of a new hotel, Regenta Z – Vrindavan, Mathura, under a management contract model.
Announced on April 7, 2026, the development marks a strategic move by the company to expand into key spiritual destinations, where demand for branded and quality accommodation continues to rise steadily.
Strategic Location in a Key Pilgrimage Hub
The upcoming property will be located in Vrindavan, one of India’s most revered religious destinations, known for its strong year-round pilgrim footfall. The hotel site is situated approximately 6 km from Prem Mandir and about 10 km from Mathura Railway Station, offering convenient access for both pilgrims and leisure travellers.
The greenfield project is scheduled for handover in April 2027 and will operate under the Regenta Z brand, which focuses on contemporary, efficient hospitality in boutique formats.
Boutique Offering with Modern Amenities
Regenta Z – Vrindavan will feature 36 well-designed rooms, catering to guests seeking comfort and functionality. The property will also include a multi-cuisine restaurant and a banquet hall, positioning it as a suitable venue for social gatherings, religious functions, and small corporate events.
The hotel aims to cater to a mix of pilgrims, families, and leisure travellers visiting the Mathura-Vrindavan circuit.
Asset-Light Expansion Strategy
The project is being developed under a management contract, aligning with Royal Orchid’s asset-light growth strategy. The property is owned by Sachin Aggarwal, with whom the company has formalised a Head of Agreement.
This approach allows the company to expand rapidly in high-demand markets while maintaining capital efficiency.
Leadership Perspective
Chander Baljee, Chairman and Managing Director of Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels, said the signing represents a significant milestone in the company’s journey to strengthen its presence in India’s spiritual destinations.
He noted that the growth in religious tourism is creating strong demand for reliable, high-quality hospitality options. The new property aims to offer a blend of modern comfort and traditional hospitality, tailored to the needs of pilgrims and travellers visiting culturally significant locations.
Focus on Religious Tourism
India’s religious tourism segment has witnessed strong growth in recent years, driven by improved infrastructure, increased domestic travel, and rising interest in spiritual experiences. Destinations like Vrindavan and Mathura continue to attract millions of visitors annually, making them attractive markets for hospitality development.
With the signing of Regenta Z – Vrindavan, Royal Orchid Hotels is further consolidating its presence in this segment, with a focus on delivering consistent and branded guest experiences in culturally significant markets.
The move underscores the company’s broader strategy to build a strong network of hotels across India’s key pilgrimage hubs while capitalising on the sustained growth of spiritual tourism.
