Luxury hospitality and design came together at The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace with the unveiling of a bespoke uniform collection created by renowned Indian designer Payal Jain, inspired by the palace’s architectural heritage, cultural legacy and the craftsmanship traditions of Bundelkhand.
Designed as an extension of the guest experience, the new uniforms draw from the property’s 350-year-old history, integrating regional design influences with contemporary silhouettes suited to modern hospitality operations.
Nestled in the Maniyagarh Hills, The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace has undergone extensive restoration while preserving its original frescoes, hand-painted details and architectural features associated with the Bundela dynasty. These heritage elements have served as the foundation for the uniform design concept.
The collection incorporates motifs inspired by royal attire, local textiles and handcrafted embroidery traditions, creating a visual connection between the hotel’s design narrative and its service culture. A palette of sandstone beige, ivory and muted gold reflects both the palace architecture and the surrounding landscape.
Selected fabrics include satin, blended silk dupion, cotton and georgette, balancing aesthetics with comfort and functionality for hotel colleagues across operational departments.
One of the collection’s distinctive features is the incorporation of architectural motifs inspired by the palace’s domes. These details have been translated into subtle embroidery and threadwork, reinforcing the property’s identity through wearable design.
The women’s collection comprises Anarkali kurtas, layered jackets, kurtis, lehengas and georgette stoles, while the men’s range includes tailored kurtas, Bundi jackets, long vests and bandhgala ensembles. The uniforms will be worn by colleagues across guest services, food and beverage, wellness, cultural programming and other guest-facing functions.
Commenting on the collaboration, Payal Jain said, “The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace is a place with a rich history and cultural identity. The collection draws inspiration from its architecture, landscape and heritage while creating garments that are comfortable and suited to everyday hospitality operations.”
Beyond aesthetics, the initiative reflects a broader trend within luxury hospitality, where uniforms are increasingly being used as storytelling tools that reinforce brand identity and a sense of place. By embedding local heritage into operational touchpoints, hotels are seeking to create more immersive guest experiences while celebrating regional craftsmanship.
For The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace, the collaboration represents another step in integrating Bundelkhand’s cultural legacy into the guest journey, ensuring that design, architecture, service and hospitality collectively contribute to a distinctive luxury experience rooted in local heritage.
