Chalet Hotels Ltd on Thursday unveiled key leadership changes and a strategic expansion move. The Board has appointed Shwetank Singh, currently Executive Director, as the next Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 February 2026 for a three-year term.
An IIT graduate with an MBA from FMS Delhi, Singh brings 26 years of experience across hospitality and strategic leadership roles. Before joining Chalet in 2023 as Chief Growth and Strategy Officer, he served as Head of Business at Golden Sands LLC in Dubai.
The Board has also approved a proposal to acquire a company owning a 150-room resort in Udaipur for INR 171 crore, subject to due diligence and regulatory clearances. Chalet will release more information once definitive agreements are finalised.
Meanwhile, outgoing MD & CEO Dr Sanjay Sethi, who completes his term in January 2026, will join the Board as a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director. Dr Sethi brings nearly four decades of hospitality experience and previously founded Berggruen Hotels.
