Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district is gearing up to become a premier destination for the hospitality industry, with its 93-km coastline and scenic riverfronts along the Godavari River and its branches now open for investment. The district administration, led by Collector R. Mahesh Kumar, is inviting proposals to develop hotels, resorts, and other tourism infrastructure to enhance the region’s appeal as a prime tourist hub.
In a meeting with investors from the Godavari region and Hyderabad, officials emphasized the untapped potential of Konaseema’s picturesque beaches, historic temples, and serene backwaters. Key locations such as S. Yanam, Pasarlapudi backwaters, and the Adurru Buddhist site were highlighted as ideal spots for hospitality ventures. S. Yanam, in particular, has been identified for the development of hotels, resorts, and water sports facilities on a three-acre site.
The district boasts seamless connectivity between coastal attractions and renowned temples, including the Bheemeswara Swamy temple at Draksharamam, the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Antarvedi, and the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Vadapalli. Plans are also underway to reopen Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation resorts at Kotipalli.
With leading groups like Agami Foods and AIRRB conducting feasibility studies, Konaseema is poised to attract significant investments, transforming its scenic locales into sought-after destinations for travelers and bolstering the region’s hospitality landscape.
