Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) is rolling out a series of measures to improve accommodation, food quality, hygiene and service standards across its Haritha hotels, with an aim to bring the properties closer to the standards of leading hospitality establishments.
TGTDC Managing Director P. Gouthami has been conducting surprise inspections of Haritha hotels across the State, reviewing guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens, food quality, hygiene, staff performance, maintenance and overall service delivery.
Officials have been directed to ensure strict compliance with food safety and kitchen hygiene standards. The Corporation has also initiated disciplinary action against personnel found negligent. On August 23, departmental action was initiated against Sambashiva Rao, Unit Manager, Haritha Hotel, Vikarabad, following the inspections.
As part of the upgrade, TGTDC is installing CCTV-based live monitoring systems in the kitchens of all Haritha hotels to enable continuous oversight of food preparation, kitchen hygiene and staff activities.
The Corporation also plans to establish dedicated vigilance teams to conduct regular inspections and monitor food quality, hygiene, room maintenance and service standards. Corrective action will be taken where deficiencies are identified.
TGTDC is additionally introducing an automated booking system for Haritha hotels, enabling tourists to check room availability online and make reservations.
Gouthami said the measures are aimed at ensuring that Haritha hotels keep pace with the growth of Telangana’s tourism sector, with a focus on food quality, hygiene, service standards, technology and guest convenience.
