Rohit Aggarwal, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Lite Bite Foods Pvt. Ltd., has announced his retirement after leading the company for 24 years and playing a pivotal role in shaping one of India’s most prominent food and beverage enterprises.
Aggarwal’s retirement marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in the company’s journey, during which Lite Bite Foods evolved from a pioneering organized food retail venture into one of India’s largest and most diversified hospitality groups.
Founded in 2002 by Amit Burman and Rohit Aggarwal, Lite Bite Foods was established with a vision to bring world-class dining experiences to Indian consumers. Over the years, the company has expanded its footprint to include 19 owned and five managed brands, operating more than 160 outlets across 19 cities in India, along with an international presence in Singapore, Washington D.C., Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Bangkok.
Today, the company employs over 4,500 people and has served more than one crore guests through its portfolio of restaurant concepts and culinary experiences.
Throughout the company’s growth journey, Amit Burman and Rohit Aggarwal combined their complementary strengths to drive business success. While Burman focused on strategic direction and financial stewardship, Aggarwal spearheaded operations, brand development, and business expansion. Together, they built a portfolio of acclaimed brands including Punjab Grill, YouMee, Zambar, Asia Seven, and Street Foods by Punjab Grill, each reflecting a commitment to culinary excellence, innovation, and customer experience.
Reflecting on his journey, Rohit Aggarwal said, “Every brand we built, every team we grew, and every guest we welcomed was guided by a belief that food has the power to bring people together. I step away with immense gratitude for everyone who has been part of this remarkable journey and complete confidence in the talented team that will lead the company into its next phase of growth.”
Aggarwal’s contributions have helped position Lite Bite Foods as a leading force in India’s hospitality and restaurant industry, creating brands that have resonated with consumers both in India and international markets.
As the company enters a new chapter, Lite Bite Foods is expected to continue building on its strong foundation of innovation, quality, and customer-centric dining experiences that have defined its success over the past two decades.
