Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited (BHVL) marked 10 years of operations of Grand Mercure Mysuru by announcing plans to invest around ₹1,000 crore in Karnataka over the next five years. The investment will focus on new hospitality projects and modernization of existing assets to cater to evolving experiential tourism demand.
Speaking in Mysuru, Nirupa Shankar, Managing Director, BHVL, said Mysuru has evolved from a leisure destination into a strong business and heritage hub, playing a significant role in the company’s South India growth strategy.
“Our decade in Mysuru has validated how international hospitality standards can successfully integrate within a heritage-rich Tier-II city. The success of Grand Mercure Mysuru has given us the operational confidence and financial blueprint to scale our presence aggressively across Karnataka,” she said.
The company’s flagship property, Grand Mercure Mysuru, completed 10 years since opening in 2016. The 146-key hotel has established itself as a key hospitality landmark in the city, blending Karnataka’s royal heritage with French-inspired hospitality while emerging as a preferred destination during Mysuru Dasara celebrations.
Vineet Verma, Director, BHVL, said the company’s expansion strategy is rooted in sustainability and community integration. “Our growth is not just about adding room inventory but also about building long-term ecosystems around talent, sustainability and local vendor development,” he noted.
BHVL has also unveiled its broader “Vision 2031” strategy aimed at doubling its room inventory by adding nearly 1,700 keys over the next five years with a planned investment of ₹3,600 crore.
The company expects Mysuru’s hospitality sector to continue witnessing strong momentum, supported by rising experiential travel demand, wellness tourism and increasing international visitor interest.
