The Hotel Association of India (HAI) recently met with Bhuvnesh Kumar to strengthen public-private collaboration aimed at accelerating tourism growth and improving policy coordination across the sector.
During the meeting, HAI representatives highlighted the need for stronger industry-government partnerships to drive infrastructure development, skill enhancement, destination promotion, and sustainable tourism initiatives. The association emphasized that closer collaboration between policymakers and hospitality stakeholders would help unlock tourism’s full economic potential while creating employment and boosting regional development.
The discussions also focused on enhancing ease of doing business for the hospitality sector, improving tourism infrastructure, and supporting long-term growth strategies aligned with India’s expanding domestic and inbound travel market.
Bhuvnesh Kumar, who recently took charge as Tourism Secretary, is expected to bring a strong digital governance and technology-driven approach to the ministry, with focus areas including digital tourism infrastructure, policy execution, and destination development.
