The Hospitality Purchasing Managers’ Forum (HPMF) Eastern Chapter successfully hosted its Annual Convention 2026 in Kolkata, bringing together procurement leaders, hospitality professionals, and industry stakeholders from across India, Nepal, and Bhutan for an evening of collaboration, cultural exchange, and strategic discussions.
Traditional Welcome Sets the Tone
The convention opened with a vibrant cultural welcome, featuring traditional elements such as Dhaki, Dhunuchi, Shankho, and Kulo dance, followed by a Baisakhi-themed Agomoni performance. The ceremonial lamp lighting by advisory board members and dignitaries formally inaugurated the event.

The event featured keynote addresses by Phalguni Das, Souvagya Mahapatra, and Nitin Shankar Nagrale, who highlighted the growing importance of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing in hospitality procurement.
A key highlight was an industry panel discussion on “India Hospitality Growth Story: How Strategic Procurement Can Drive Scale, Sustainability & Self-Reliance,” which explored the evolving role of procurement in driving operational efficiency and long-term growth.
Expansion and Strategic Collaborations
The convention marked the launch of new regional chapters in Assam and Bhutan, reflecting HPMF’s expanding footprint. A strategic collaboration with the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) was also announced, aimed at strengthening professional development within the procurement community.
As part of this initiative, HPMF will sponsor a Materials Management certification course for 10 of its members, reinforcing its commitment to skill enhancement and capacity building.
Cultural Showcase and Networking
The evening featured a rich cultural lineup, including Baul music and a saxophone performance, celebrating the region’s heritage. Sponsor presentations, CSR discussions, and recognition of industry contributors through memento distributions further enriched the programme.
The event concluded with a Bollywood-themed performance and networking dinner, offering attendees an opportunity to engage and exchange ideas in an informal setting.
