Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of Gateway Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru, further strengthening its presence in one of India’s most competitive hospitality markets. The 283-key hotel will be developed as a brownfield project and is expected to be completed within the next 24 months.
The signing underscores IHCL’s continued focus on expanding its footprint in high-growth urban centres, particularly Bengaluru, which remains a key demand driver for business travel, meetings, conferences and extended-staysegments.
Commenting on the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said Bengaluru continues to be among India’s leading lodging markets, with Yeshwantpur emerging as an important commercial micro-market. She noted that the addition of the reimagined Gateway brand strengthens IHCL’s presence in North Bengaluru and further deepens its partnership with Naveen Hotels.
The upcoming hotel will feature 283 guest rooms along with an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, bar and lounge, and a pool bar. The property will also offer approximately 13,000 square feet of meetings and events space, including two large pillarless banquet halls and multiple meeting rooms, positioning it to cater to corporate events, social gatherings and weddings.
Additional facilities will include a fitness centre and swimming pool, supporting both business and leisure travellers.
Satish Shetty, Chairman, Naveen Hotels, said the project marks another milestone in the group’s long-standing association with IHCL and will contribute to the evolving hospitality landscape of Yeshwantpur and North Bengaluru.
From an industry perspective, the signing reflects sustained investor confidence in Bengaluru’s hospitality market, supported by the city’s strong IT ecosystem, growing corporate travel demand and expanding infrastructure network. North Bengaluru, in particular, continues to witness increased hotel development activity driven by commercial growth corridors, industrial clusters and improved connectivity.
With this addition, IHCL’s portfolio in Bengaluru will grow to 21 hotels, including 12 properties currently under development, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to one of India’s fastest-growing hospitality destinations.
