Over 850 Youth Impacted Across India Through Hospitality-Focused Employability Programme
Radisson Hotel Group has crossed a major milestone under its Youth Skilling Initiative, impacting more than 850 young individuals across India through its collaboration with the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) and The Job Plus. The programme is focused on strengthening employability and creating sustainable career pathways within India’s hospitality sector, particularly for youth from underserved regions.
As part of the first two phases of the initiative, 616 candidates have completed industry-aligned training and received certification under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). Of these, 501 candidates have already secured placements across leading hospitality brands in India, with women accounting for more than half of the successful placements, highlighting the programme’s emphasis on inclusive workforce participation.
The initiative has expanded access to hospitality careers across states including Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Delhi NCR, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana — regions where structured skilling and formal employment opportunities often remain limited.
Commenting on the initiative, Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the programme reflects the company’s long-term commitment towards building an inclusive and future-ready hospitality workforce while using hospitality as a platform for social and economic transformation. He added that the initiative has achieved an 87% placement rate among rural youth participants.
The Job Plus, implementation partner for the initiative, highlighted that the programme demonstrates how industry-linked skilling models can create scalable employment opportunities and long-term economic mobility for young people entering the hospitality sector.
The initiative has also enabled several transformative success stories. Abigail Ryntathiang from Shillong secured employment at The Bay Club, Mumbai, before completing her training, becoming the first member of her family to enter the hospitality industry. Similarly, Asharani Hamom from Imphal, Manipur, relocated to Delhi after joining the programme and currently works as an F&B Associate at The Leela Palace New Delhi.
With the third phase of the programme now underway, Radisson Hotel Group plans to further expand the initiative and strengthen access to hospitality skilling, certification, and long-term employment opportunities across underserved geographies in India.
Radisson Hotel Group currently operates one of the largest international hospitality portfolios in India, with more than 200 hotels in operation and development across multiple brands, including Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, Park Inn by Radisson, Park Plaza, and Radisson Individuals.
